The facility itself matters. About eight tables are each enclosed by barriers and netting, limiting cross-court ball interference. There is also a classroom, making the venue suitable for theoretical and practical sessions back-to-back. The venue has potential as a regional coach-education hub. A serving-focused CPD session is planned, supported by Steve Brunskill through the Coach Development role. That choice signals serve quality is perceived as an important development area for grassroots coaches, although no technical detail has been published. Table Tennis England also announced a coaching membership for 2026/27, including a Coach Plus tier offering additional support from the Coach Development Team. Rather than a one-off qualification, this suggests an ongoing relationship between coaches and the national governing body.
